We will develop the skill to critically evaluate existing research as a foundation for producing quality work. First-year doctoral students, especially in their first semester, may find this challenging, but the aim is to foster a critical perspective on published studies.
We will evaluate research using a structured set of questions, focusing on the clarity of the problem, theoretical framework, literature review, research design, analysis, and results interpretation. The reviews will assess the educational significance, appropriateness of the design, sampling methods, and implications for future research and practice.
